THE 124th GOLDEN DRAGON PARADE
第124届羅省金龍大游行
Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles
presents
124th Golden Dragon Parade
Saturaday - January 28, 2023 - 1:00pm
Celebrating the Year of Rabbit
Each year, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles hosts the Annual Golden Dragon Parade. With over a hundred thousand spectators and thousands more viewing the telecast on KNBC, KCAL, KTLA, this colorful celebration along North Broadway in Chinatown has become the premiere cultural event in the Southern California Asian-American Community.
The day of the Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday of the year for approx. 1.5 million Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese people in Southern California. It is a cultural tradition when ancestors are fondly remembered, and families give thanks for their blessings. Red packets of money are given, families feast on special New Year's delicacies to promote fortune and health, and firecrackers add to the fun and excitement. The history of the Golden Dragon Parade dates back to the early 1900s when it was not for Lunar new year, nor was it organized by Chinese people. It was called La Fiesta de Los Angeles and it was a way for the city to advertise itself as a land of progress and bounty.
This year, we are back 'In Real Life,' with live performances from the Lion Dance, dance troupes, music groups, and participation of government dignitaries, local business leaders, cultural groups, and much more.
The parade is a rich and diverse experience for all ages and ethnicities across Los Angeles and is supported in part by the District of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles.
Parade route: Hill Street at Temple toward Bernard. Right on Bernard, right on Broadway back to Broadway & Temple. Runs from 1-4pm.
Grandstand Tickets are being sold at Eventbrite:
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/124th-golden-dragon-lunar-new-year-parade-tickets-507113278467?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
Chinatown street closures starts at 10 AM . We advise everybody to take public transportation (e.g. LA Metro Gold Line) or use rideshare transportation, such as Uber and Lyft, to Chinatown. Finding a space in any parking lot is an unlikely event.
Happy Lunar New Year !!
Special Thanks to all the Sponsors for their contribution and support to this great event!

CRAZY FUNNY ASIANS: STAND WITH ASIANS TO STOP ASIAN HATE
This is a unique moment in Asian-American history and American history. Asian-Americans have never had a more tangible impact on global culture than now - with visible mainstream success stories in pop culture, food, music, film, business, sports, and of course, design. Yet, this is also a moment that is simultaneously being marred by an emerging wave of widespread Anti-Asian violence and crime.
As a result, the CCCLA and Stand With Asians are proudly hosting a comedy benefit on March 11, 2022, at the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatre that attempts to leverage the success of Asian-Americans in comedy to bring our community together in solidarity to Stop Anti-Asian Hate with Stand With Asians and the Chinese Chamber Cultural Foundation.
Come celebrate with us and enjoy an evening of laughter, comedy, and solidarity with Asian-American comedic artists sharing their best versions of themselves and their culture.
Featuring live stand-up comedy from Asian-American comedians: Cat Ce, John Chen, Derek Mio, PK, Steveioe & Thom Tran.
50% of ticket sale proceeds will go to benefit Stand With Asians (a community organization focused on amplifying the AAPI voice and advocating for social equity to end anti-Asian hate) and 50% will go to the Chinese Chamber Cultural Foundation.
Register here to stand with us as we stand against anti-Asian hate.
